The NO KINGS III protest was a great success with 2700 people showing up in El Cajon and 94,000 protestors throughout San Diego County. That made a difference to our Country. We are in the fight of our lives and we need to fight with our feet and our voices. Our fight is on two fronts and both are crucial: standing up for America in the countrywide protests and actively supporting our local candidates. As Democrats get elected, it stalls the takeover of our country by the Trump regime. So locally, we can donate time and money. Donating time is by phonebanking, canvassing, and postcard writing. We all need to jump into this struggle full on. It will make a difference and we can stop this political war on our country.

San Diego Progressive Labor Summit

Hello friends!

It’s that time of year again—the Progressive Labor Summit is back, and once again, we’ll be hosting it at the San Diego Convention Center (111 West Harbor Drive, San Diego, CA 92101) on Saturday, April 19, 2025. You can buy your ticket here.

The Progressive Labor Summit is a one-day event taking place in San Diego, CA, bringing together members of the Labor community with left-of-center activists and community leaders to build stronger understanding, knowledge, skills, and partnerships in tackling the broader social challenges we are facing today.

Within the context of the current political climate, it is more important than ever that we are able to build strong, authentic relationships that allow us to move forward together in solidarity, as we strive towards greater justice for the communities we serve and represent. While many of us have collaborated and interacted tangentially, the current political landscape requires us to be more intentional and strategic than ever in order to create the changes we seek.

The eighth annual summit will occur in-person and help us strengthen our foundation for vital progressive work.

We’re looking forward to having you all back with us, and I think we can all agree that this is a critical time for us to come together as a movement. Sometimes, statements like, “we’re in the fight of our lives,” to describe a political moment, can feel hyperbolic. And it’s true that we may have worse fights than the one we’re in now coming (though I fervently hope not). But I don’t think it’s at all an exaggeration to say that right now, we are in the fight of our lives, for the soul of our nation and for the democracy of our government.
